CONDITIONS

1.  The Tournament will be conducted in full accord with the Tournament Regulations adopted by Badminton England. All competitors must be affiliated to Badminton England or to a national organisation affiliated to the Badminton World Federation.

2.  Players should note that the updated Regulations including a Penalty System for Tournaments will be applicable to the event. The introduction of Cards of Misconduct with Yellow, Red and Black cards will apply, as will the penalty fines system. These are detailed in s15 of the Badminton England Tournament Regulations.

3.  The Committee reserves the right to refuse an entry without assigning any reason, and also to alter or modify the programme in any way they see fit. Their decision in all matters shall be final.

4.  All entries must reach the Hon. Tournament Secretary by 28th February 2008. Each competitor must send a separate entry form. Entries will not be accepted unless the entry fees are attached. Cheques should be made payable to Suffolk Badminton Association and reach the Hon. Tournament Secretary by 1st March 2008.

5.  Competitors must be prepared to play at the time stated for the tournament of each event. If a later time is stated in the appropriate column on the entry form the committee will consider this, but no guarantee can be given that this will be observed. Each competitor will be advised by post or email of the times he/she is required for the first game in each event. Any competitor not ready when called will be scratched.

6.  Each competitor on arrival must report to the referee’s table in the main Sports Hall. Competitors must not leave the Sports Hall during the Tournament without the approval of the referee.

7.  No competitor will be entitled to a refund of entry fee unless the Tournament Secretary agrees to do so.

8.  The draw will be seeded. Best of three games to 21 points, rally point scoring.

9.  Competitors are requested to wear appropriate apparel when playing on court.

10.  Challenge trophies are perpetual. Holders of trophies will be responsible for their safe custody and their return in a clean condition to the Hon Tournament Secretary 14 days in advance of the next tournament.

11.  Spectators are welcome at the tournament. Light refreshments will be available.

13.  Please provide Email address if possible as this will enable early notification of acceptance of entries, start times and other details associated with the tournament.

14. PENALTY CLAUSE – The Badminton England penalty system will be applied. The following are the penalties for each offence. All penalties must be paid within 28 days of their imposition.

i)    Failure to arrive without notification                         Penalty £100.

ii)   Failure to arrive with notification within a

      reasonable period but without proper reason      Penalty £50.

iii)  Late arrival on court without proper reason           Penalty £20.

iv)  CARDS of CONDUCT. The following are the penalties for receiving a card of misconduct.

      Yellow Card            Penalty £20

      Red Card                Penalty £40.

If a player receives a black card the case will be referred to a disciplinary hearing as set out in the

Disciplinary Procedure of Badminton England.

APPEALS – a player has the right of appeal against any penalty imposed, but these must be made in writing to Badminton England.
